About Formfix
Formfix is a free tool that cleans up text before you paste it into an Indian government portal.
The problem
Many government forms refuse text that looks perfectly normal. A rupee sign, a long dash copied from Word, a curly quote or an emoji can be enough for the portal to reject a grievance or an application, often without saying which character caused it. Most forms also have a character limit.
What Formfix does
- You choose the portal you are submitting to.
- You paste what you wrote.
- Formfix replaces or removes the characters that portal is known to refuse, counts the characters, and shows you every change it made.
- You copy the clean version and paste it into the portal yourself.
Formfix currently covers EPFO grievances, RTI applications and CPGRAMS grievances. Each portal’s rules are tested by hand on the live portal. Where a portal has not been tested yet, the tool says so.
What Formfix is not
Formfix is an independent tool. It is not run by, or connected to, any government department. It does not submit anything on your behalf, and it cannot tell you whether your grievance or application will be accepted on its merits. Always check the official portal for current rules.
